Terms of Service
These terms form the agreement between you and HealthOp Africa. By creating an account, posting a listing, applying for a role or registering for an event, you accept them.
Last updated: 18 September 2026
1. The service
HealthOp Africa operates a platform that lists healthcare events, CPD programmes, training and jobs across Africa. We are a listings and application platform only. We are not an employer, recruitment agency, event organiser, training provider or accreditation body, and we are not a party to any employment contract, event attendance or payment arrangement made between you and an organisation.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must give accurate information, including your profession and any regulatory council registration number you supply, and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account.
- We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, submit false information or misuse the platform.
3. Professional registration numbers
Where you provide a regulatory council and registration number, we record and display that you supplied it. We do not verify it with your council unless we explicitly say so on a listing or in your profile, and we make no representation that any licence is current or in good standing. Employers remain responsible for their own verification and due diligence.
4. Posting listings
- You may only post opportunities you are authorised to advertise, with accurate details about the organisation, role or event, dates, location, pricing and any CPD points.
- Listings are reviewed before publication. We may edit, reject or remove any listing, at our discretion, including after publication.
- Prohibited content includes fraudulent or non-existent roles and events, pyramid or pay-to-work schemes, discriminatory requirements unlawful in the relevant country, misleading CPD or accreditation claims, adult or illegal content, and anything infringing another party's rights.
- By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display, reproduce and promote your listing and logo on the platform and in our newsletters and social channels.
- You must handle candidate data you receive lawfully, use it only to assess that application, and comply with applicable data protection law.
5. Applying and registering
When you apply for a role or register for an event, you authorise us to send the organisation the details of your application, which may include your profile, contact details, regulatory registration number and a time-limited link to your CV. Selection, interviews, offers, attendance and any resulting contract are entirely between you and that organisation.
6. Payments, fees and refunds
- Posting a job or event is free. Optional paid placements and advertising are charged at the prices shown at the time of purchase, in Nigerian Naira unless stated otherwise.
- Event tickets are sold on behalf of the organiser. We may deduct a platform commission from ticket sales; the organiser receives the balance.
- Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider and are subject to that provider's terms.
- Paid placements and advertising are non-refundable once the placement has started, except where we fail to deliver it.
- Ticket refunds, cancellations and postponements are the organiser's responsibility under the refund terms shown on the event. Where an event is cancelled, we will support the refund of amounts still held by us.
7. Acceptable use
You must not scrape, copy or resell our listings, attempt to breach security or access other users' data, upload malware, impersonate another person or organisation, send spam through the platform, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
8. Intellectual property
The HealthOp Africa name, logo, design and software are our property or licensed to us. Content you submit remains yours, subject to the licence in section 4. If you believe content on the platform infringes your rights, contact us with details and we will investigate and remove infringing material where appropriate.
9. Third-party links and advertising
The platform contains links to third-party websites and may display advertising. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, products, services or privacy practices. Dealings with advertisers or linked sites are solely between you and them.
10. Disclaimers
The platform is provided "as is". We do not warrant that listings are accurate, complete or current, that any application will result in employment, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing on the platform is medical, legal, financial or career advice. See our Disclaimer.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss arising from your dealings with an employer, organiser or other user. Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or ₦20,000 if you paid us nothing. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from content you submit, your use of the platform, or your breach of these terms or of applicable law.
13. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access where these terms are breached or where required by law. Provisions that by their nature survive termination, including sections 8 to 12, continue to apply.
14. Changes
We may amend these terms. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms; the revision date is shown at the top of this page.
15. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: contact us or write to 26 A.E Ekukinam Street, Utako, Abuja, Nigeria.
